Ministry of Finance updates the import tariff value to prevent under-invoicing of imports. Recently, gold smuggling through international airports in the country have shot up on increased import duty announced last year.


NEW DELHI (Bullion Street0: India has raised the import value of gold and silver reflecting global trends in prices of  both the commodities. Gold import tariff value has been hiked from $392 per 10 grams to $407/10 grams while silver import tariff value has been raised from $638 per kg to $663 per kg, according to an official release.

Ministry of Finance periodically updates the import tariff value to prevent under-invoicing of imports. Recently, gold smuggling through international airports in the country have shot up on increased import duty announced last year.

India Government has asked jewellers to provide information on purchases of gold bars or jewellery worth more than 500,000 rupees by the end of this month, a move seen keeping a check on big transactions amid rising smuggling.

On spot markets, gold prices fell tumbled on Wednesday on increased selling on global trends.Gold prices fell by Rs 365 to Rs 30,035 per 20 grams while silver fell by Rs 420 to Rs 44,700 per kg. Traders said stockists selling in tandem with a weak global trend amid speculation that the US Federal Reserve will continue reducing asset purchases mainly pulled down both gold and silver prices.

(纽约14日电)国际货币基金组织(IMF)周一宣布,将丹麦、芬兰、挪威和波兰四国列入其旨在防止全球性金融危机再度发生的金融风险名单,也就是说将会对它们的金融行业进行例行的检查。

国际货币基金组织在2010年将25个国家列入这个名单,也就是说,对这些国家金融行业的评估将是强制性的。这类评估在2008年到2009年的金融危机爆发之前是自愿性的,而当时的危机也凸显了一个国家的金融行业存在的问题是如何迅速地扩展到邻国,甚至是世界其他地方。

国际货币基金组织认定其金融行业具有"系统重要性"29个国家中,有一半以上在欧洲。在谈到对欧洲金融中心的关注时,国际货币基金组织指出,"这些国家的金融行业具有高度互联的特性,不仅仅是在它们之间,而且是与其他主要金融中心之间的。这使得它们成为了全球金融网络中的中心节点,对全球系统稳定性至关重要。"

国际货币基金组织的新评估是因为曾经多次威胁到欧元货币联盟存续,发生在欧元区内长期的主权债务危机而做出的。国际货币基金组织在危机中向包括希腊,葡萄牙和塞浦路斯在内,多个欧元区最薄弱的成员国发放了数百亿美元的贷款。

国际货币基金组织还在周一公布的新的评估方法,称其不仅会对一国银行在另一国的风险敞口进行评估,还将考虑主权债务风险敞口,以及一个国家与其银行业之间的联系。

国际货币基金组织说,将会在评估金融稳定性时,更大程度关注每个国家金融行业之间的关联,以及和其他邻国之间的关系。在之前的评估中,国际货币基金组织主要强调一个国家金融行业的规模。国际货币基金组织还计划对价格的传导进行分析,比如世界各地股市之间的密切联系。


国际货币基金组织董事会对新的评估方法表示欢迎,但是也说,这个方法可能忽略了2008年以来有过银行业和金融危机的某些国家。董事会同时也对针对这个29个国家的强制性评估这一新的任务可能使得基金组织工作人员在对世界其他地方的金融行业进行自愿性评估的时间减少表达了关注。
